I Bike Rosemont

For 14 years, I Bike Rosemont has been a beloved tradition that brings together Rosemont Elementary families, neighbors and partners to celebrate bicycling, community and safe mobility. What started as a simple ride to school has grown into a weeklong celebration of active transportation and neighborhood pride.

Each spring, families meet at neighborhood gathering points to ride together to school, culminating in a Dallas Police Department–escorted parade to the Bishop Arts District, where riders are rewarded with an ice cream party. The event now draws up to 100 riders daily and more than 200 participants for the finale—making it one of Rosemont's most anticipated events of the year.

Impact and Accomplishments

Thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, families, and sponsors, I Bike Rosemont continues to make a real difference:

• Named Best Bike Program 2024 by the City of Dallas

• Finalist for Best Group Ride at the 2024 BikeDFW UpShift Awards

• Helped secure $1.7 million in pedestrian and bike lane improvements near Rosemont campuses

• Donated over 80 bikes and 500 helmets to students in need

• Installed new bike racks to encourage daily riding

Beyond the annual event, I Bike Rosemont also hosts monthly group rides into school and continues to advocate for safer routes to school. Since its inception, the program has inspired countless kids to ride safely and confidently.
